Drama is one of my top subjects! I've served on several tech crews and both leading and supporting acting roles in several performances.

I've completed high school and been accepted into college, so I obviously have what's needed for the lower levels of education, such as elementary students, and I maintained a GPA of 3.5 throughout my high school career, so there is a good change I'll at least be able to get the resources needed for your student to excel in the subject of study they struggle in. I'm very good with younger children, I've worked with them extensively for several years.
I prefer to try to be more hands-on in my approach to teaching, especially with younger children. I do know that their attention span isn't as long as that of older people, so I try to keep them engaged through short and interactive sessions.

I believe that teaching through lecture and hands-on activities is the most effective. A student that is capable of "teaching" the teacher a lesson and explaining the subject in their own words will have a greater understanding of the subject. When I teach and tutor I explain to the student the topic in my words, and then continue to ask for feedback until the student is capable of explaining the lesson in their own words.
While attending law school, I spent 2 full academic years tutoring first year law students. I tutored property and constitutional law. It was through tutoring that I was able to help several students improve their grades, both through emotional support and exceptional knowledge in the subjects. I enjoy learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others.

I enjoy tutoring children one on one. Many children have difficulties in school because of low confidence levels, which are reinforced in the classroom by very little individual attention. I believe the more comfortable a child feels in her/his learning environment, the easier she/he will learn. I believe in identifying the learning style of the student which can take some time with some. Are they a visual learner I draw pictures, maps, charts and video; if an audio learner tapes, lecture, youtube, video, etc,.. and if a kinesthetic learner then they need the hands on experience to develop the learning that is needed, so then standing back to guide the thought process without doing it for them.
I started as an Adjunct Instructor at ISU for the Geomatics Engineering program for the 2007-2008 school year. Prepare for class setup the curriculum, homework, grading and test for 10-12 students. I went to ITT Technical Institute following that and was offered to Chair School of Drafting & Design. I taught and ran the department for 2 years. I was in charge of 4-10 teachers and 170+ students.

A Little Bit About Me...

Tutoring began for me at Montana State University-Northern while attending school majoring in Pre-Med. I worked at Student Support Services for five semesters tutoring mostly science based classes. I fell in love with giving knowledge and helping students understand concepts of their specific courses. I am two semesters away from obtaining my B.S in Pre-Med with a minor in chemistry.
