My comments on tutoring Musical : I'm willing to teach Music Theory.

I have many volunteer hours stacked up working with groups of children, but I would love to teach on a more personal basis to build my one-on-one skills. I'm currently an education major at Colorado State University, and while music is my emphasis, I was always very studious in school and am well-versed in other subjects. I have received numerous academic and artistic awards, some (such as being named a Texas Music Scholar) encompass both.
For me, teaching isn't about pounding new material into their head, it's about helping them understand the material they're given and actually having fun learning. That's why my teaching style is all about fun and retention.

Learning starts with learing about oneself and how you best perform. It is very similar to sports, you start off learning the techniques and then you must learn how you best apply them, and yes it takes practice. I have gathered many tools in my life and they came from all the different activities I have done. One must only keep the eyes open and mind focused to absorb the world around them. A Little Bit About Me...

As an honors graduate, I pursued most of my education within my communications degree. I will begin teaching a 15-20 person writing class of 4-6 graders at the YWCA in Boulder this month. This is similar to a youth organization I worked for in high school where I mentored a group of elementary age students and initiated a youth magazine where the participants could publish their own poetry and stories.
