I am currently a semi-retired land surveyor and former TCU instructor (in computer science). I believe there is a major difference between teaching the student how to get a good grade and mastering the fundamental concepts that control math and science. When helping a student with Algebra, it is critical to asses their basic skills in mathematical operations.
