I come into contact with a variety of different students with different areas of interest as a public speaking teacher. My teaching philosophy is to recognize that every student needs, wants, and gets something different from their studies, and it is my job to help them do just that. Coming from a family of educators, I knew from an early age that I would become a teacher myself; therefore, all the steps taken to prepare for my professional life have been to enable me to be the best teacher I can be. I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of South Alabama. I received classroom teaching experience at a local middle school and as a university instructor. I currently have an extremely rewarding position with the Mobile Housing Board developing, coordinating, and instructing GED preparation classes. With this program I teach GED concepts and both group and individually tutor numerous students. I take pride in the fact that 100% of the students I referred to the official GED test obtained their GED.
