I don't know if you could say that I have a "style" but I am all about seeing what they know first and giving them hints here and there so that they come to the understanding on their own and if it is needed I can show them how to do it and help them replicate it.
I have a love for learning and helping others learn. I am currently in college to become an Elementary School teacher and I have really emphasized on math. I took honors math classes all through high school and I have enjoyed being able to study math and help others understand as well. I also have a love for piano. ORTON-Gilingham multi sensory approach. Math without words until the concept is mastered. Using lots of manipulatives including video games, that teach concepts.
I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.
