As a graduate assistant teaching a section of College Algebra at Minnesota State University, Mankato for past three years, I have gained a tremendous amount of experience and insights to become a successful educator and a leader. Now that I have completed my Masters degree in Mathematical Statistics, I want to continue to help students achieve their goal. I believe a successful instructor is the most important part of teaching; one who is knowledgeable, wise, and be able to effectively communicate the knowledge to the students. I believe this can be achieved primarily by knowing the entirety of the subject taught and being able to connect with the students on an individual basis. The most effective instructors in my experience especially in higher education were effective at answering in dept questions on the spot and being able to connect with students with the course material rather than presenting facts or knowledge.
My primary experience lies with Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program.
