I earned a bachelors degree in English Literature and a minor in Education. During these undergraduate years, I helped student teach regular English courses ranging from reading comprehension, essay writing, and literary analysis in various schools and grade levels. My grammatical skills are beyond proficient due to rigorous essay writing, research and literary, and also my extensive practice in writing poetry. I am a fantastic team worker, who doesn't mind any approach to teaching, as long as the students are learning and exceling.
My teaching style is a collage of teaching styles. I am well aware that students retain and use information in numerous ways. During and after earning my degree, I spent almost nine years working in healthcare as a medical assistant, teaching patients in a one on one environment. Most recently I was an Environmental Health and Safety Supervisor. I have given training presentations to groups from as small as three to as large as sixty. During this school year, I have worked as a substitute teacher for Calvary Christian Academy.I was involved in 4-H for 9 years. Through that opportunity I was instilled with a passion for community service. I have also volunteered as co-leader of church youth group and for the past two years worked as a helper in the classes for ages 10-13 in the AWANA Club at Calvary Baptist Church in Ozark.
