I feel that it is important to explain basic underlying theory behind science and math, as well as presenting these topics in a step by step, logical manner. I feel it is important to teach methods for how to obtain a solution and not rely on rot memorization of facts and equations.
As a graduate student I taught an undergraduate engineering lab course for a semester, and spend 2-3 additional semesters grading tests and assignments for various undergraduate level courses in mechanical engineering. In addition, I also worked as a tutor during my senior year in high school, as well as at various times while an undergraduate student in college. As a graduate of Wheeling Jesuit University in General Science Physics, I have completed extensive coursework in the areas of math, science, and engineering. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the past year, I served as an Americorps volunteer in an inner city charter school with an emphasis on character education. I worked one on one with students helping them with math, reading, and science skills. I assisted in classroom teaching of mini lessons too. I also helped with their after-school program, I also created supplemental study guides and multimedia software to help students to improve their study skills. I was a Resident Assistant and Wellness Coordinator for a dormitory at WVU for three years, where I received a Resident Assistant of the Year Award. I currently teach four sections of general biology lab and two sections of comparative anatomy lab.
