Ready to love learning

Adaptive. I have a background in experiential education and believe that the method is not as important as the end result of having assimilated, understood, and taught back the information. My comments on tutoring Composition : I have received above average marks on all writing and composition tests taken.

I helped elementary kids in highschool ('08-'09). I was a peer facilitator for highschool Biology and Advanced Placement Psychology ('09), and I have various experience helping others understand the subjects they have trouble with. I'm not a know-it-all (math is my weakness) so I understand the other side of the coin and how sometimes you just need a different way to learn.

Once this is discovered, I teach the student (through examples) until they understand the topic with which they need help. My strongest suit in my teaching style is probably the many ways that I would approach teaching a certain principle. If the student does not understand one way to approach a problem, I try to best to help them understand and learn another way. I feel like since everyone learns differently, a tutor should approach a problem from as many angles as possible. My teaching style is also very patient. I suppose the saying "give a man a fish, feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish, feed him for a lifetime" would apply to my style. I try to make sure the student understands the principles behind the type of problem and not just how to do the one problem.
