A Little Bit About Me...

I have participated in several tutoring training seminars that have taught me various methods of teaching. First of all, students learn differently and it is important to accommodate to those differences. Therefore, I have learned that teaching involves more than just speaking one on one about the material. Teaching includes pictures, real world examples, hand gestures, mouth positions for learning new languages, etc. Today, children tend to look at learning in a scattered form that makes learning frustrating and often undoable. After achieving my certificate of proficiency in Spanish from Hamline I then began to also privately tutor Spanish. My teaching style is unique in that I make the learning experience a two-way street between myself and whomever I'm teaching. I allow students to teach other students.I shun lectures in favor of open discussion.
