Teaching is very subjective. Each individual learns according to his/her own style. What I find challenging and rewarding is to find that point where it “clicks”. I believe the best way to learn is through experience and discovery. As an example, I can describe the intelligence of an octopus. But until you actually see a video of one opening a jar for a treat, do you truly realize it as a thinking, planning being. I feel that teaching an individual how to use available resources is just as important as the actual subject. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from Denison University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. While at Denison I participated in several work-study jobs centered around direct interaction with other students. I worked as a TA in an Organic Chemistry lab as well as a General Physics Lab. Additionally I served as a tutor for both General Physics as well as General and Organic Chemistry. The Chemistry position was in a setting called "Chem Spa" where I could have several students seeking help with homework or upcoming test preparations. I have also worked as both a high school baseball coach and a swim instructor for all ages. My background in chemistry is very strong as is my background in biology.
