I graduated from Illinois State University in 2009 with a BS in Biological Sciences and I am currently working towards my certificate in teaching secondary education. I have experience teaching in lab settings, community college classrooms as well as tutoring at the high school and middle school level.

I believe that each and every student has an ability to learn and it is necessary to find a method of teaching conducive to the individual. For example, I was a student that learned though hands on activities and writing. Having a teacher stand and lecture never appealed to me. Other children, and adults, may be more apt to retain through reading or repetition. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Physics as well as minors in both Mathematics and Exercise Science. Earning this degree as well as two minors has allowed me to gain a large amount of knowledge in both science and math. I have 25 years experience in the civil engineering field, specifically the water resources area. I started substitute teaching at both the Lincoln Community High School and Hartem School District in 2009. I also started tutoring for Lincoln College in the Academic Success Center, last year.
