College educated years of experience with "At Risk" students

I believe that every student I have ever worked with has been more than capable of understanding and excelling at whatever material we are working on. The problem I often see is either a lack of focus or loss of determination/ confidence due to not agreeing or benefiting from their teachers teaching style. With this in mind I gain an understanding of what the student understands and work with them to let them figure the problems out trying multiple approaches and explanations.

Over the course of my studies in Mechanical Engineering I learned the value of perseverance. My classes were extrememly difficult, but I did not give up. I had numerous obstacles to overcome in order to achieve my degree, but I finally did so in May of this year.
