A Little Bit About Me...

I know firsthand that great teachers make great students. It took several years to discover my learning style because I had to find it on my own. I want to be able to help students find their own learning style. I believe that subjects are best learned when broken down, and repetition is key. I also believe practice makes perfect. I know that a student needs to know the basics first, then can move on to more complex ideas.
In earning my bachelors of science degree at the University of South Carolina Aiken, I gained a true love for biology. I excelled in entry-level biology classes, as well as higher-level science classes such as ecology and evolution. I am also proficient in writing, English, and math. During my college career, I have tutored mostly in sciences and math.

I love making learning fun and rewarding for students. My forte is in breaking down math and science concepts to basic understandable chunks, relating new information to prior knowledge,and teaching learning and test taking skills that can be applied to any subject. I believe students learn best when they see the relevance of what they are learning in their own lives, so I strive to provide real life examples and experiences to help students see "why they have to learn this."
