My comments on tutoring Communications : By definition, a Public Affairs operator in the military is by definition a "professional communicator." Pursuit on excellence is expected on all multi-media mediums.

I have been a professional print/broadcast journalist for roughly 15 years. I am a perpetual student and am currently finishing my bachelors in communications online at the University of Tampa and have been accepted in their Master of Fine Arts program for Film Studies. An MFA is a terminal degree, so I will be qualified to teach on a collegiate level upon graduation. As reality often transcends policy, I currently take interns from a local SUNY institution and mentor young broadcasters, so as technology evolves, I will as well. My main body of work is primarily broadcast, but I regularly produce print articles for both online and print publications. From developing concepts for solid stories to completed final products, I am adept at producing both broadcast and print work.

I enjoy the challenge of working with children. My eldest daughter is a graduate of the University of Georgia and I have two teenagers currently in Middle and high school. They have augmented my ability to be patient and flexible when assisting with their homework. My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. I was especially interested in algebraically-capable computer math programs. I,eventually, went back to school for my Mathematics degree as part of a long-standing interest in and commitment to Mathematics. Along with my educational background I was a Girl Scout Troup leader for three years and a volunteer for the American Lung Association and American Heart Association. I enjoy working with kids and contacted Barbara Kline of the Utica School District and started working in the Tutoring program with her for four years.
