I have had intensive study at Case Western Reserve, mostly in chemistry (general chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry and physical chemistry), but I know many other subjects and I am proficient in them. My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Currently, I am an online math tutor. I tutor students at the elementary and middle school level. Prior to becoming a tutor I was a Middle School Math teacher at an alternative school. I have also tutored Elementary students in Reading and Math in previous years.

I have earned a bachelor degree in Chemistry and am currently in a PhD program in Pharmaceutical Science. As an undergraduate I had the opportunity to tutor my peers in both science and writing courses.
