My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I am particularly adept at teaching children and young people how to read; by using a variety of non-conventional and creative methods, including traditional learning techniques. I think lots of modeling and review of the concepts being taught is essential. I want the student to observe the modeling and then for me to guide them through the learning of the concepts. Students should be fully engaged in order to gain a full understanding.
I have been tutoring all subjects K-8 for over 15 years. I am a certified teacher and currently teach 6th grade. I worked at Sylvan Learning Center for over a year before becoming a private tutor. As a native French speaker who graduated from the University of Kansas with a Master in Urban Planning and a BA in Political Science.
