My comments on tutoring Chemistry : Received an A- and an A in Honors General Chemistry at the University of Kansas.

I took 4 years of Honors and AP mathematics classes at Blue Valley North High School (I received A's in each of the classes). I also received a 5 on the AP Calculus AB test. I have received an A- and an A in Honors General Chemistry at the University of Kansas. I was a tutor for a high school student, in Geometry and Algebra 2. I typically begin with the homework assigned by the students teacher, as theses are most often the questions that appear on the tests. Reviewing the practice tests, if available, is also key, as many teachers use only slightly modified versions for the real test. For more advanced students, or those wishing to earn the highest marks, I will design extra problems, both conceptual and mathematic based, to continue to challenge them. This can include something a simple as more problems to work on, or as complex as having the student re-write previous problems to give them a chance to see all the different angles that the concept can be tested.
