A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of elecrical engineering and computer science with ABET accreditation. From early on in my studies I've enjoyed tutoring students of Mathematics,Computers,Technology,Science and Engineering courses. I've also conducted many science lab experiments and written reports of my findings. I strive to work with each student as a team toward improved course performance to match their individual goals.
I've enjoyed working with students of all ages, background and grade level in coursework such as Math,Science,Computer and Engineering courses from seventh grade through undergraduate college. I believe in the "practice makes perfect" approach, especially when it comes to math, science, and language study. That said, I also believe that practice can be interesting, fun, encouraging and reinforcing. I would hope to help a student figure out how to learn and approach new challenges with confidence and enthusiasm. Sometimes what a child needs most is to simply understand that he or she is capable of achieving. Instilling self-affirmation is an extremely important part of teaching, and that would be my goal in working with your child.
I began teaching as a college sophomore at MIT. For 9 years, I taught primarily Multivariable Calculus, but also single-variable Calculus, Linear Algebra, and several writing courses. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University. The field of industrial engineering draws much from statistics. Therefore a large portion of the curriculum is comprised of statistics courses. I have a background in basic statistics, regression analysis, data mining, design of experiments, statistical forecasting, and quality control. During my master’s program I taught a weekly session for the undergraduate course, statistics for engineers. I also provided one on one tutoring during a teaching assistantship for an undergraduate business course which taught operations research basics.
