I have a BA in History from UM, which, of course, entailed not just learning and researching history, but also tremendous amounts of writing papers on a myriad of topics. I am currently a law student at Wayne State, and so am also well versed in legal and social issues, as well as, once again, lots of writing and grammar. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching others and helping them excel in their studies. I can relate to younger students because I have a six year old who required extensive help in the area of reading. She was one of my greatest achievements because I had to research a way to communicate on her level of understanding and yet make it interesting and fun. Now instead reading being a weakness it is a strength for her because she has excelled and developed confidence in this area too. I have also helped other children children in the community and I have volunteered on a regular basis at my daughters school helping her classmates with their work.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is simple: get the kids involved. Make the subjects relevant to them. While working as a paraprofessional in a Detroit charter school, I created a number of different lesson plans that attempt to get the children interested in a subject that doesn't readily lend itself to progress. For example, I created a lesson plan tying mathematical functions with NBA stars such as Lebron James and Kobe Bryant. A teacher acts a creative facilitator, one who inspires kids to want to learn and creates an energy within the student or class. I feel very strongly that I can help students succeed in the classroom, and I possess a number of different qualities such as humor, creativity, positivity, and energy.
