I have over a decade of experience in tutoring and teaching including 7 years as an Engineering Instructor at The Ohio State University and 4 years as a IACET certified Robotics Instructor. I tailor my teaching style to the student. I first evaluate where the student is by building rapport, discussing the problem he/she is having, talking to the teacher, and talking to the parents. I then begin focusing on the area where the student is having difficulties. It may be that the student requires help with homework as well as review of fundamentals. I address both areas, always encouraging the student.
I have taught as a tutor in High School, and college. I also taught in the adult education system of Fairborn, Ohio. I have acted as a group home monitor for MR/DD adults. I am presently tutoring a young adult in cost control and algebra.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have over time developed a strong desire to teach and to ignite in others the same passion for learning that my teachers ignited in me. I believe that everyone has the ability to understand mathematics regardless of age and that the right teacher can not only facilitate deep understanding but can foster an enthusiasm for the subject that will naturally follow from such understanding. My teaching style is laid-back but focused, and the most important thing to me is to be patient with the student and to provide a firm foundation by ensuring that each troublesome concept is well understood. I find that, with math, looking at a concept from a different angle or providing an intuitive physical example is a boon.
