I have always enjoyed assisting our youth work through various academic endeavors. I have been tutoring grades k-12 for several years now. I have helped all ages with a wide variety of assignments.
My teaching style varies based on the age of the student. I like to be a little more animated with my k-6 graders. On the other hand, with my 7-12 graders I focus more so on making a connection with the material--showing them how it relates to them.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching because of the feeling of helping someone who is truly struggling in class! I believe that everyone can learn, but some teachers styles don't match up with the students learning style. I am a very patient and considerate person. I am a firm believer that many students can't learn strictly through theory and need to be walked through example problems. Walking through problems gives them a better visualization of what they are trying to solve.
As a recent college graduate, I understand the high expectations and the stress that it can cause a college student, especially coming from a school where most professors expected students to teach themselves concepts. I have earned my BS in Mechanical Engineering which has enabled me to gain understanding in math and science. I have experience in tutoring students in mathematics, physics 1 and thermodynamics.

While working to obtain a degree in Elementary Education at the University of Mississippi, I was able to experience a variety of tutoring and instructional techniques in the K-6 grades. Each semester I was assigned to specific grade levels that allowed me to work with instructors and students. I was given opportunities to tutor students throughout the semester through assignments, projects, and volunteering. I have instructional experience and have tutored students in grade levels K-6 during my four years at the University of Mississippi. I obtained a certification to teach General Science grades 7-12 while working on my minor in Geology, and a certification to teach English grades 7-12.
