A Little Bit About Me...

As a Teach for America corps member, I taught both high school and middle school math in the urban corps to students who were, on average, three years behind. I have learned how to identify critical gaps in content knowledge that prevent students from progressing, and have found fun and creative ways to build their confidence back up so they can learn to really enjoy math.

For many years, education has been one of my top priorities. I graduated salutatorian of my high school class and summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. In high school, I tutored in a local elementary school, focusing on developing students' grammar and composition skills. While in college, I tutored chemistry, biology, physics and math courses up to graduate levels.
While tutoring at my college, I received specialized training on identifying and adjusting to different learning styles. I use this knowledge to tailor each session to the needs of the individual student. To track progress, I like to set both short-term and long-term goals and create manageable steps toward reaching these goals.
