Drawing is one of my top subjects! All students at SCAD are required to take a number of drawing courses, each taught by some of the best teachers in the country. Even at the level I was before arriving at SCAD, I've seen vast improvement in my skills, improvement I hope to pass on and encourage a more creative world.

Like those who taught me, my teaching style isn't harsh or cushy, just realistic. I will happily tell you where you've improved, but I will also point out where there can still be improvement. Individual lessons will be once-twice weekly, and are typically ~2 hours. During which time we will discuss a level of theory, discuss our current practice project, and move on to practicing the techniques we learned. These practice projects are not intended to be completed during these lessons. For the sake of cost-effectiveness, you are encouraged to continue working on your own, and email me with any questions you may have. I can tailor my lessons to my client's goals, be that industry work or illustrations for writing.

A Little Bit About Me...

In May 2010, I will receive my Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art, with minor studies in Psychology and Arts Education. While studying, I had the opportunity to tutor children in the America Reads program at various elementary schools. I also had the privilege tutoring and assistant teaching in general education and art classrooms in the elementary setting. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching and working with children not only educates them but it educates myself in the process. I get to touch up on materials that the children are learning, as well as learn better ways to educate students. Patience is what I believe is the most important aspect of teaching. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. If they are unfocused and miss a part of what is instructed, they will be confused throughout the whole process. It helps to be patient with the educating process.
