I have always been enthusiastic about educating young adults in the magic of chemistry. Chemistry can be a daunting subject, but I have found that students can master chemistry when they are shown how to break down chemistry and chemical problems as well as given "real world" chemical trivia to see the purpose behind learning chemistry. I firmly believe everyone is interested in learning chemistry; some just don't know it yet! I have extensive experience in post secondary chemical education. During my graduate work, I both served as a tutor and a lecturer for general chemistry. After graduation, I became a college chemistry professor teaching general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. After six years in academia, I became an industrial chemist and am currently employed by a company in Little Rock.

I have been in some aspect of education for over 21 years. My experience includes tutoring math and science for Talent Search in 1990, teaching biology, chemistry, physics, physical science, applied math 2, principles of technology I & II, algebra I workshop, general science, life science, earth science and environmental science to grades 7-12 the past 18 years, physical science on a college level, and currently tutor 8-12 grades in science and teach intro to chemistry and environmental science on a college level. I prefer facilitation and discussion teaching styles. These particular styles, to me, help create an environment where the learner is more actively involved. I believe that the more active the learner is, the greater the the impact of learning will become. I deem these teaching styles most effective in the approach to learning.

I have been involved in a lot of activities and feel the best way to teach is to relate to the student. As a tutor, I have worked with many different types of students and I found a way to relate the information to something they were interested in. I believe all students are capable of learning the material; it just has to be presented in a way they understand. I received my BS degree in 2007 in pre-medicine. I majored in pre-professional zoology and I have a minor in biochemistry. I also worked at the Talent Development Center as a tutor for biology, botany, chemistry and biochemistry. I have a strong background in all science courses and maintained a 3.87 GPA throughout college.

I received my BS in Environmental science in 2007 and minored in chemistry.Environmental science- biology track requires to have numerous biology courses. I have had good experience teaching and tutoring students and my friends in mathematics, biology, chemistry and even college level physics.
