The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. If there's one thing I've learned from my last several years of teaching, it's that each student learns in his/her own way, and it's the job of the teacher to perceive those needs and tailor their teaching style to meet them. Although society is more aware of this now than ever before, today's classroom structure is severely detrimental to meeting a diverse array of needs. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and working with students. I now understand that all children learn on their own level and at their own pace. I am very easy going, but I insist that students do their homework and stay after school for extra help if they need it. I grade work off of understanding. It is not always finding the correct answer, but the process to get to the correct answer. I believe that a good teacher makes a good student and I strive to be that good teacher and student.
I enjoyed tutoring while I was in college working in the math lab for three years. However, now that I have been actually teaching my very own students I have a better understanding of the basics of mathematics and I am a much better student myself.

I firmly believe in students succeeding in school and life. Having a love for learning and school is the key to good grades and a healthy attitude. I don’t believe any child wants to fail. Quite the contrary, children want to succeed. When students fail, it is because the system failed them and not the other way around. I believe the key to teaching kids is to help that child experience immediate success so they can gain self esteem during critical elementary school years.
