My comments on tutoring Anatomy : I headed up study sessions for students taking this class

Over the years I have developed study skills to help students with special needs as well as help individuals with special needs on the job site. I interview a potential student to find out the best way he or she learns. I would then adapt my teaching style to their learning method.I have worked with visually impaired students who needed me to transcribe their classroom tapes into braille or who needed me to write lecture notes for them. I worked with students who were taking English as a Second Language writing up grammar lessons,participating in Bridge classes, developing study hours for conversational practices at home and using pictures to get across ideas. Anatomy is one of my top subjects! Good at building tools to help memorize long process. Use quizzes and pictures to help teach.

I have spent a semester teaching anatomy to Lansing Community College students. I learned from this experince how to explain anatomy, and how everything relates to each other. I use quzies to test the knowledge, and pictures to show the inerworkings of the human body. I have worked with and helped students in the area of basic math. I have worked with students in small groups, one-on-one, and online through study material.

I use the students personal interests to build a foundation and help the student make connections with new materials. through my teaching career I have had numerous workshops and professional Development in all areas in education. I have been able to combine different teaching strategies to fit the needs of my students. In Arizona I taught Fourth Grade where 80% of my studens were English Language Learners of Hispanic decent. This was a real leaning experience. I took the Dibels training which really helped my teaching techniques. Using Orton-Guillingham guidelines with the hundreds of hours of teacher training allowed my students to excel. I believe my varied experiences and a love for my profession enables me to be a Master Teacher.
