My teaching style consists of finding that unique style that will suit each individual student. Growing up, I noticed that it was very hard for certain students to grasp certain concepts because they were not engaged in the teaching method. It is no secret that everyone learns a certain way, and no two ways are ever the same. I believe that my patience, my calm demeanor, and habit of wanting to make learning something fun rather than a job has certainly helped me in my education. I have a BS in journalism, and a specialization in advertising/integrated marketing communications. I also have minors in English and psychology. As a result of studying both journalism and English, I have an extensive background in writing. I have tutored ESL students to learn to read and write in English. My teaching style involves demonstrating how to understand a problem or perform a task before I ask the student to do so. By facilitating students in such a way, I believe they have a more one-on-one learning experience, as opposed to a strict lecture setting. With guidance and demonstration, I believe it is easier for students to learn without pressure.
