Teaching and helping others is a passion of mine. I love the feeling I get when I realize I have helped somebody solve a problem. It makes them feel accomplished, and myself as well. When I tutor, I let the student come to me with the problem, and instead of doing it for them, I will break it down into smaller steps they can do. I will use similar examples from a book or problems I make up to show them the basics of the problem. I want to provide students with a good, strong mathematical foundation. I am presently working as a substitute teacher. I am certified to teach mathematics in 7th to 12th grades. I have recently passed the Praxis II tests to teach science in 7th to 12th grades. I teach almost every day and I usually teach math or science classes. Previously I worked as an engineer. During this time I mentored and trained new engineers.
I became interested in teaching while I was working at Delphi Automotive. I trained my own staff while I was there.
