My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I took Algebra II at Diablo Valley College,and I feel good about the subject matter.

I am currently a school-age teacher at an afterschool child development program. I have my 12 E.C.E units to teach in such an afterschool program as a teacher. I have taught a afterschool based curriculum at two seperate child development centers, for a total of 6 1/2 years. I began tutoring at Diablo Valley College in Algebra. I believe in Minimalism. I tutor Math from the point of view that the shortest path is the best path but everyone learns differently and finding the right method for my students is one of my main goals when tutoring. I teach students multiple ways to solve a particular problems and they get to decide which method works best for them, hopefully its the simplest method. Public School class rooms have 30 plus students and only one instructor. The low instructor to student ratio makes it difficult for more then one method to be taught leaving some students behind. Algebra II is one of my top subjects!

I have different styles for different students. Some prefer one-on-one and some prefer to learn in a group and participate.
