I am very proficient with teaching my students to understand rather than just finish the activity or problem. I pay very close attention to the learning style of my students. I make sure they are focusing and learning rather than copying my teachings.
I continously tutor ages k-12, college students and international students. I have been tutoring for five years and enjoy sifting out the difficulties. My comments on tutoring Writing : I have been writing consistently for the last 12 years, in several genres. I mainly write poetry and stories, although I can write research/opinion papers for my college classes.

I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in English, with an emphasis on Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University online. I have been writing for almost twenty years, although I have been writing poetry since I was in high school. I have been published in a book of poetry (although it wasn't widely distributed), and I love to teach people about Shakespeare because of how much I enjoy learning about the time period and writing styles of the period.

My comments on tutoring Writing : I have taught this subject at both primary and secondary levels in my school district.

Interactive modeling of examples, repetition, and simplifying subject matter are key components of my teaching style. Many students have difficulty relating to academic material due the lack being given time to practice example assignments. I also teach universal strategies of how to study material to fully understand assignments.
I have worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the past 8 years. I am currently attending school to become a special education teacher. Writing is one of my top subjects! I was a professional grant writer for 8 years on a part time basis. Also, I have tutored AP English. I have excellent references.

Depending upon the student, I vary the tutoring help. Some students are slower or faster than others; some like to play games to learn and some like step-by-step instructions. I am kind, personable, and flexible with a lot of patience. I think that is why I have been so successful.
