A Little Bit About Me...

I love biology. You will too. My students will become experts in their fields, but they are not there yet. It is not my style to throw them in the deep end and hope they can hear me yelling commands. It is my style to jump in and swim with them until they take off on their own. It is my desire to teach because it is here that I can know my students and personally be a part of their success. Many of them will become successful and stay in the community. I will see them in the supermarket. I will always be reminded of whether I have done my job. Others will go on to four year schools and become research scientists. Those I will read about to my next group of students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy a very interactive learning approach. I tend to use hands on and visual learning techniques. I am patient and children are my joy to work with. It does not matter how long it takes one to learn, everyone is capable. I desire to set up a fun and disciplined learning environment for the students best success.
During the attainment of my undergraduate degree, I conducted research under my professor, Dr. Greg Powell. Throughout the research, I gathered many skills one being creative in learning, as well as, presenting new material and teaching it to fellow peers and professors. I have a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Biology/Science Education and a Master’s Degree in Gifted Education. I have 9 years of experience in the High School classroom and 1 year of experience in a University setting. I have received Accommodations from my State Senator and State Representative for my work as an educator. I was chosen as 1 of 20 teachers in the state of Oklahoma to participate in the Teachers in Space Program. I have served on the Board of Directors for Odyssey of the Mind, and led the Future Teachers of America Program as State Director.
