My comments on tutoring College Algebra : I led Supplemental Instruction for College Algebra at The University of South Dakota for 1-1/2 year, providing group study sessions, homework help, extra tips, and additional instruction as necessary. I consider Algebra to be my specialty among all math subjects.

I prefer personal and small group teaching, but I can also do online tutoring with Webex. I like to get to know my students and their goals. I can help students set those goals, make plans, and achieve. I have lots of experience creating curriculum materials and lessons, and I try to find a real-life application to each lesson.

My role as a tutor is help guide students through a problem while doing as little of the actual calculations as possible. I try to make my students see that many problems, while different in appearance, are actually the same as ones they've already solved before.
