My comments on tutoring Drawing : For the greater part of my life I have been deeply interested in art in all it's phases and have had a mumber of original works published as full page covers for the arts section of "Seven Days" - a weekly newspaper published in Burlington VT. I have participated in Open Studios frequently in both Vermont and Florida.

In my teaching, I make every effort to engage the attention of my students. While covering the subject at hand, I bring into my lessons references to a spectrum of other subjects when relevant such as historical context, cultural elements, literary allusions, modern and historical implications and facts and trivia relating to the subject which I believe will not only be of interest to the student but will also provide a more rounded appreciation of the benefits of a wide ranging education.

It is my belief that everyone is able to learn, and what produces that ability is having support. So many instructors give up on those not favored as "prized" students, and in turn, these students just slide through. I know it takes time and effort to get some students enthused about education, and I make it my goal to help them with this.

I believe that children need to find a reason to have a goal of being educated. Coming from a small town and having such a global perspective, I love helping children see their place in this vast world and that they are an important global citizen.
