I believe that each student should learn to be in charge of their own education. My goal is to help them achieve that goal. I am not quick to jump in with the answer but can wait patiently for them to work through the problem. Since I learned by a very different method than my teachers tried to teach, I look for a students learning style. If he is not getting the concept, I'll try another or even invent one on the spot. As a student at Sonoma State University I spent a semester being a teachers assistant and then was hired in the outreach office. For three years I worked as a college rep for the university. I went around and spoke to students at high schools and attended college fairs at both high schools and community college.
