My teaching style is based on building an empowering relationship between teacher and student. The aim in my teaching is to make the student into an out-going self-learner and to teach the student positive ways of challenging himself. If I were to label myself, I would call myself a patient, understanding teacher. I look for tools and ways to reach my student, often employing numerous aids for a single subject. I have worked as a teacher on the Big Island, and spent over ten years as a volunteer trainer at public access television facilities in New York and Texas. I am currently seeking tutoring work as I complete the last year of my online "masters in elementary education" program. I have a bachelors in Psychology, and twenty years of working experience, 5 in supervisory positions. I can teach elementary and high school level work. I love working with kids. I believe that the kids are our future and if we adults don't help them grow up to be leaders and make better choices in their lives we will not have any sense of direction.
