I am certified to teach secondary mathematics and social studies by the state of OHIO. I also enjoy teaching college students and tutoring on a weekly basis. A Little Bit About Me...

In my years of accounting, I have worked with new employees teaching and explaining accounting concepts and methods. I am currently working on my MBA with CPA emphasis and would be helpful to any accounting student in understanding and working with acounting concepts and methods.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching at a high school level or above. I am very hands on. I am a bit of a story teller - rearranging the circumstances of the problem into an issue more easily related to by the student. I am very patient and relaxed - there are very few people who have a lower stress level than I do.
At MSU, I first worked as a Supplemental Instructor and then became a Graduate Assistant (before I even earned my Bachelor's degree) in the School of Business. I also worked in the math department as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant. I have taught business, accounting and math classes at the college level when instructor was absent. Accounting is by far my strong suit, followed by Excel, Economics and Math, however I do not use high-level math often, although I got A's in everything throughout college.

From a young age, I began to develop a deep commitment to hard work. I currently work in the tax department at a local accounting firm. I am a CPA and hold a Masters Degree in Taxation and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. In addition to tax work I do for my firm, I am responsible for creating training materials, coordinating and leading training sessions, and following up with new hires to make sure they are grasping the material. I have loved teaching and still keep in touch with many of my former students. In fact, I have taught many of their children! I seem to end up helping students with more than just their homework. I have always had a talent for understanding that not everyone "gets it the first time." I had much trouble with science myself. When I was responsible for hiring teachers, I usually wasn't a fan of those with 4.0 averages. I was afraid they wouldn't have the patience to answer the same question 10 times!
