My comments on tutoring English : Use all of the grammar rules and using them in practice.

My students enjoy coming to lessons with Ms. Sharon. I make them feel comfortable, and always encourage them to ask me questions. I always ask them if their was something that they had in the classroom that they didn't understand, and they are not inhibited to tell me so. My comments on tutoring English : English in all its facets,is a specialty of mine including: grammar, language arts, reading, writing, composition, spelling, comprehension, speaking. In addition, to teaching a student how to read, write speak and understand the English language, I teach students how to lessen whatever foreign accent they may have (a foreign accent often makes it difficult to understand a person for whom English is a second language, even when the person speaks it grammatically well.)

Our tutors are trained to be able to relate problems to the real world, making them concrete and simple. For example, a question may ask what is 7 times 25? This problem is abstract and challenging to some people. Thus, I rephrase it to, "If you have 7 quarters in your pocket, how much money do you have?" By making the problem more relatable to the student, the problem suddenly appears easier and less intimidating. My comments on tutoring English : Elementary to adult education

Pleasant and respectful but firm, listen as well as teach. Tutor work from teacher's information to insure the student understands the lesson given by school teacher.
Twenty years of rotating between five schools as a permanent School Board Certified substitute teacher/tutor as well as tutor college students at the college location. The reading, writing and math included ESOL students. Computer classes which included ESOL students, were keyboarding, word processing, power point, excel and internet. There were adult evening classes on the same subjects. Also write lesson plans, request for needed supplies, oral reports on many different areas of student abilities.
