A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Wake Forest in 2008, double-majoring in Mathematics and Physics. I also took some courses in the Education Department, and substitute taught for public high schools and middle schools in Winston-Salem, NC and Metairie, LA. I have worked in tutoring programs for elementary school children approximately twice a week for a total of twelve months. I have recently learned HTML, PHP, and Javascript programming languages, and am the designer and programmer for the Facebook application Harry Potter House Sort.
I think educators must take into account the different ways in which students learn. For instance, I've noticed that math students may have difficulty adding and subtracting fractions, but have no trouble whatsoever when I ask about dimes and quarters. I had a great opportunities to help and assist students when i attended high school and college. It gave me a sense of achievement knowing i was helping someone else to achieve thier goals, and bring them to understand things in an easier way. The subjects i tutored were mostly math, science and english. I aso assited a lot of graduate stidents as a lab assitant doing research.I have been tutoring now for at least 9 years.
My main goal is teaching a student in a way that they could understand ,as we all know every child needs a different approach.With patients and delligence i will discover a way of getting the child to understand the particular subject to how it best fits them.
