My comments on tutoring GRE : I did extensive studying and preparation for my gre and scored over a 312 with my combined scores.

I graduated from Berry College in May of 2021. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Science with Honors. My major was Animal Science with a minor in chemistry. I have worked on several research projects that are in the process of publication or being prepared for publication. I never made anything below an A on my physics and chemistry classes. My specialty is in animal science, chemistry, and physics. However, I can teach lower to middle level mathematics. I am currently enrolled as a first year veterinary student at the University of Florida.
I am a very personable teacher and I like to modify my teaching approach to each student. I also employ a variety of disciplines to help facilitate a better understanding of the subject being learned.

GRE is one of my top subjects! Math portion

I have a been tutoring math on at least a part-time basis for over 20 years. I have a degree in Psychology and another in Geomatics (Surveying and Mapping - heavy on mathematics) from the University of Florida. I have received a perfect score on the math portion of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination). Let me put that experience to work for you!
I am very patient, but I expect you to work to his or her full ability and to be honest about your weak points. If you can do most of the work on your own and come to me with what you truly have problems with, out time together will be much more productive.

Learning is a life long process

Encourage self learning as stimulation of mind is utmost necessary.
Have years of experience teaching my siblings their course work including math(algebra + geometry), physics, chemistry, biology. To stimulate mind often provided puzzles; crosswords and scrabble to increase vocabulary. Worked on a variety of course related projects in school as well as college. Mostly a self taught learner, and taught most of my friends before the exams during college on all subjects.

My comments on tutoring GRE : Just before graduating college, I heard about the Graduate Record Examination. The GRE is essentially a large-scale SAT that takes a more comprehensive look at the student's understanding of math and language. In short, is the academic "follow up" exam to the SAT. I studied hard for the GRE, and had help from a tutor who showed me (more than anything else) what to expect. I barely studied the material that would be on the exam, and instead focused on the strategies that helped me maximize my time and minimize incorrect answers. However, both facets of this exam are important to practice in, and as such I offer my expertise on the matter. On my first attempt at the exam, I scored well within the top quartile of all test-takers nationwide.

Greetings one and all! My name is Tristan, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Florida's College of Engineering as of August 2012. I graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nuclear Engineering and a cumulative GPA of 3.25 (and I will tell you that I earned every point of it). I am looking forward to using my knowledge and proficiency in various fields of math and science to make your four year slog through the rigors of academia as palpable as possible. I offer flexible hours, friendly demeanor, and a patient approach to tutoring that caters to your individual skill set. All of this comes at a reasonable price, which can of course be negotiated to suit your budget (remember, I was once a broke college student too). In short: I work with you, for you, and on your terms! I offer tutelage in many technical disciplines: Math, Science, and Engineering are my b ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Every subject has its own teaching style, yet there are some consistencies throughout. I teach based on how the student learns. This may require adapting typical styles to meet the individual student's needs.  You or your child will benefit from my focus on repetition and consistency, yet at the same time my desire for a variety of learning techniques. I encourage every student to do his or her own best work before bringing it to me, then allow me to help enhance his or her work to help the student excel.  It is my firm belief that every student has the potential to excel with the right environment, style, and motivation. It is my goal to figure out what this is for you or your child and provide you the opportunity to do so.
In every subject I am qualified to tutor I have taken high school, college, graduate, and/or professional courses and earned at least a "B+" (91%), with ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has always been my passion. During my tenure as a Lecturer, I corrected assignments, exams and assisted course tutors in the preparation of lessons for individual tutoring sessions. I also coordinated presentations and demonstrations as part of the teaching curriculum.
My teaching is very effective and has helped students a lot. I make sure that the students have understood the fundamentals first. Then I break down the problem into steps and I explain them step by step. This helps students to remember the fundamentals well and they can tackle any difficult problem with ease. In order to make my teaching more effective I use videos and images to give them more insight about the subject.

Hello! My name's Grant and I am greatly looking forward to helping you or your student achieve your goals in math, German, social studies, or humanities. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in math, taught a year of high school Algebra, have tutored students in algebra and German, and recently completed a master's degree in philosophy. I hope to begin a Ph.D. program in the next few years and eventually teach psychology and philosophy at a university.
Some words that describe me: friendly, patient, kind, compassionate, helpful... but also ambitious, hard-working, and analytical. I believe that every student can learn and that hard work can overcome barriers to understanding. Students usually reach for the height of the expectations that have been set for them. I have succeeded as a teacher, not if my students learn new facts that they can regurgitate, but onl ... read more

More About This Tutor...

In my first semester of graduate school, I was a teaching assistant in a 3000-level course with about 20 students. I found the class very exciting as the students where very diligent and always did their pre-lab before each class, making the class easier for them to understand. I have tutored privately at various times helping high school students prepare for SAT and GRE math sections, having scored very well in those exams myself. I am fluent in the English language and have great communication skills as is required for any student in graduate school.
One of my favorite past-times is teaching and mentoring. I have helped my youger siblings and cousins broaden their skills in sciences and math. I strive to bring out the best in people when I teach them by using everyday activities and examples that they can easily relate to. I find all children are capable when the right methods an ... read more

More About This Tutor...

I am generally flexible, seeking to find what works best for a particular student. My wife and I once hosted a French teenager with the understanding that I would teach him a series of English lessons during his stay. It quickly became apparent that his language skills far exceeded the pre-planned lessons, so I instead developed new lessons on the fly. I try to make sure my students thoroughly understand the central concepts of a subject by showing them how it works and why it matters. After they have that grasp, I try to move on to less important but more entertaining areas. This method helps the student to care about a subject, and want to continue to learn after our relationship ends.
I have worked as a substitute teacher in a wide variety of subject areas, and have volunteered as a tutor for some time. However, since beginning a PhD program at UF I have done neither. Though mo ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught writing at the college level for more than eight years. I have taught at two state universities, one of the top ten community colleges in the US, and a private technical college. I have taught both remedial and pre-college English, English 101, English 102, American Literature, Creative Writing, Technical Communication, and Writing for Management. I can help with study skills, with master plans, and with reading comprehension and interpretation. In writing, I can help students with drafting, revision, style, and of course, grammar, syntax, and mechanics. I am also quite familiar in working with students who speak another language at home.
I seek to help all students gain confidence in their writing and reading abilities. I have helped students in honing these skills in order to use writing for discovery, for organization, planning, and forethought, and for cr ... read more

As a current graduate student (Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering) at the University of Florida, I developed my research and tutoring skills through several volunteer along with knowledge in Math, Physics and Chemistry. I have tutored College Algebra, Calculus, Physics and Chemistry to high school students and College-level students.
I tutored in the learning center at Valencia community college for one year. Through this work and my education classes I have learned to work with each student as an individual, all students learn differently. I adapt my tutoring style to the student. I like to ask questions to lead them to an answer and use positive reinforcement as much as I can. While I do want my students to learn the material and concepts I also want them to learn study habits and become independent learners. I encourage my students to believe in themselves that the ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BA in Math and a love of logic. When I completed my degree, I was only a few courses shy of a second BA in philosophy. My other loves are spelling, grammar, poetry, literature, mind-activating games and puzzles, and similar activities. For the 2005-2006 school year, I took a long term substitute position for 6 months as a full-time instructor for drop-out prevention high school math students.
Working with drop-out prevention students inspired me and showed me that I have a talent for sharing my knowledge in a way that is intelligible and absorbable, as well as transcendable beyond the average classroom environment. I prefer to educate by asking my pupils leading questions that encourage them to use their own internal skills to arrive at an answer, rather than being "spoon fed" or otherwise assisted. My attitude is professional but caring, and I feel that I'm able to r ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I am interested in pursuing an academic career as a teacher and am eager to continue this path. I am able to teach many levels and pride myself on encouraging students to open up their own critical thinking skills. At the University of Colorado at Boulder, I taught recitations for religious studies courses in Judaism and Christian Traditions as well as a recitation in World Regional Geography to students in their freshman through senior years as well as to non-traditional students pursuing their educations later in life. The courses I assisted in teaching generally involved extensive writing assignments which required me to help students work on skills necessary to succeed in reading comprehension, writing skills and critical thinking.
I would like to pass on my dedication to learning and the understanding of cultural patterns to students and following them from their first encount ... read more

For example, I have developed a core science program using historical biology to interweave physical, earth, space and biological sciences for the middle and high school grades. A Little Bit About Me...

Although schooled in the Communicative Method in second language acquisition, my teaching styles are varied, fluid and dependent upon the individual student and subject. Along with patience, understanding will create an environment conducive to learning.
A BA and an MA in French provide me with the knowledge. Experience as a former teaching assistant and as a current online tutor give me the skills necessary to teach. Writing numerous papers in both French and English taught me the mechanics involved in language. I use all of these insights to enrich students' prospective experiences. In addition to reading and writing, I also tutor math up to Algebra II.
