I recently graduated from Denison University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. While at Denison I participated in several work-study jobs centered around direct interaction with other students. I worked as a TA in an Organic Chemistry lab as well as a General Physics Lab. Additionally I served as a tutor for both General Physics as well as General and Organic Chemistry. This gives me the opportunity to identify possible gaps in their knowledge and to fill in those gaps. I also try to relate covered material to historical events. For instance, when talking about the importance of analytical chemistry, I like to talk about the Marsh test which was developed in the 1830’s as a definitive reaction for arsenic poisoning.
