My comments on tutoring Genetics : I have always been interested in genetics and two years ago had my DNA tested.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. I have acted as substitute teacher at the middle and high school levels for a total of 10 years, 8 of which were spent at 12 schools in Vermont and 2 at 10 schools in Hernando County FL. I held the position of Senior ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) with a highly reputed language school in Vienna, Austria for a period of 2 years and have offered ESOL instruction as a volunteer teacher at the Tarpon Springs campus of St. Petersburg College and with the Hernando County branches of H.E.A.R.T. and R.S.V.P. I have given prvate English language lessons to individuals from Nepal, Brazil and Puerto Rico. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style involves a number of methods to accommodate a diverse classroom. Students learn differently therefore he or she ust be exposed to various styles opf teaching so the student can develop his or her learning style. I am a firm believer that open ended questions and learning through discovery enables students to remeber information. I encourage hands on activities particulaly lab assignments because these labs help students understand concepts taught during lecture. I am very patient with my students because I believe that everyone learn differently and are motivated by different things.

I currently teach Biology, which can be a diffucult subject for students to learn. I try to tie real world applications into every Biology topic possible. Students always tend to comprehend and understand Biology material when teachers can relate the applications to real life.
Inspring and mentoring students is a very fufilling career for me. Teaching has always been one of life's goals every since my high school Biology teacher made a major impact in my life. After graduating from Jackson State University in 2006, I moved to Ocala, Florida to start my teaching career. All children have the ability to learn given the opportunity. I want to give them that opportunity by figuring out ways to convey my lesson to all my students. This task could be accomplished by trying a number of strategies, including the arts and music. Students should also be kept interested in the subject matter.
During my undergraduate years, I started tutoring at the various tutoring centers on campus. I tutored science, mathematics, French, Spanish and Italian. That experience sparked my interest in teaching. At the end of my undergraduate studies, I applied and received the teaching opportunity program scholarship. In the last two years, I have worked as the dean of discipline in charge of maintaining a safe learning environment for over five hundred students.
