I am focused on achieving student growth while helping students develop learning habits and a love for reading.
I have five years of teaching experience, including teaching kindergarten students, students who were English language learners, and fifth, sixth, and seventh grade students. My focus has been in reading and language arts, and I have attended several Uncommon Schools trainings for close reading techniques and writing and vocabulary strategies. My previous background and work experience was in writing, and I enjoy teaching students about the different forms of writing, including creative writing, literary analysis, argumentative, and informative.
