Having lived overseas on two occasions and having run several businesses in many environments, I have a diversified experience base to relate authentic examples to the educational setting. I believe the best learning comes from active participation rather than passive observance.
20 year corporate management and 15 years of individual owner business experience. Presently own a finance company. 10 years International living experience. Teaching experience at the University of Iowa as a graduate instructor for undergraduate Management courses. I am very flexible in my teaching style and have helped students who learn in very different ways. While I was working with the Reading by the River program I worked with four different students each of which learned in very different ways. From this I learned at a very early time in my life that it is crucial to cater to each individual students needs. I personally have a more analytical mind and analytical learning style however I have learned how to explain technical aspects of accounting in a variety of ways.
When I was in 7th and 8th grade I participated in America Reads where I helped teach elementary children how to read.
