Hello, my name is Jessica. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Le Moyne College in Mathematics with a concentration in Actuarial Science. I am currently working on my Masters Degree in Accounting in Utica. I have experience tutoring all types of math subject levels. A Little Bit About Me...

Before having children I worked as an teacher's aide at the local pre-school, working with 3-5 year-olds. After that I became a teacher's aid for the local middle school, working with children that were not allowed to go to regular classes due to their behavior. My main job was to show them how to write essays, reports, papers, etc. I also worked with their families as well and I loved it.

I enjoy working with kids and contacted Barbara Kline of the Utica School District and started working in the Tutoring program with her for four years. While in the tutoring program I assisted students from elementary school and highschool in reading and writing comprehension. I throughly enjoyed this work and would love the chance to do it again. If one understands the motivation for the rules they can better anticipate how items should be handled and they are more likely to retain information. Simply memorizing facts and rules doesn't serve students well in the long run and that approach is only as good as their ability to recall the proper information at the right time.
