Having completed my B.A. in Mathematics, with a minor in adolescent education, a Computer Science degree, and graduating with a 3.65 GPA, and a 4.0 in content has fueled my success. When working on Reading skills I often use high interest topics such as the arts, sports, computers and science to encourage students to excel. As a teaching major, I did my student teaching during my last semester of college (in kindergarten and third grade). This was in the spring of 2008. The next fall (2008), I was a substitute teacher for 4 months and then I was hired as a preschool teacher (in January of 2009). I taught as a preschool teacher for 10 months and then went back to substitute teaching (in October 2009) and have been substitute teaching since then. These experiences have taught me how to teach a variety of grade levels (from preschool to 5th grade). My goal is to obtain a full time teaching job and want to do whatever I can until I get one.
