A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the biggest key to learning is finding a way for students to relate to the information. Getting to know the student and relating thier interests to the material at hand is key to making a connection. I also believe it is critical to remain positive and supportive with students. At some point every student becomes frustrated by material that is challenging to them. By being able to keep students in a positive state of mind and by keeping the material fresh and fun, students will be more willing and able to continue the learning process.
While my area of expertise is physical education, I have gained great experience in other areas of education while searving as an in house substitute for Highland Elementary. I enjoy helping others gain an understanding and interest in any subject that may be troubling them. To start, I find out what the student is currently studying and what material the student understands. I then use what the student knows to introduce and explain the material the student does not understand. Throughout the process I do my best to make sure the student understands what is being explained and has the ability to solve problems without my guidance. Once I see the student is comfortable with the material, we move on to new material. I try everything I can to work with students' needs and wants in order to help them gain confidence in their education.
