The most important element of achieving success in school is self confidence. The way I help build that in children is by being extremely positive, supportive, and full of praise. I observe their behavior carefully to make sure they truly understand what they are being taught. When something is challenging to a child, I try different methods until I know it “clicked”. Another very important part of tutoring is communicating with the students’ guardians about their behavior or any stressors. When I know what external factors are affecting a child, I can be better prepared for our session.

I have a passion for teaching and as such opened a tutoring service that I ran for four years. I hold a Bachelors of General Studies from Valdosta State University and will graduate with my Master of Business Administration in May 2010. I excel at tutoring in English, sociology, psychology, mathematics, science, literature, and social studies.
I believe the greatest asset to learning for anyone at any age is learning "how" to learn. I like to use modern techniques and ideas to creatively teach a child or adult a new concept. I am patient and unique.

My teaching style is one of encouragement and positive reinforcement. I always conveyed the importance of good study habits and how vital it was to their success. I taught them that education is an ongoing process with failure as well as successes, but whatever the outcome, they must always put forth their best effort.
