I see my job as that of facilitator: the student is there, the information is there, and the student is the learner. I'm just there to guide, explain, provide details, clarify, relate new information to existing knowledge, etc. The student has to be "in charge," so to speak. I can't force knowledge into someone's mind, it has to be learned, but I can help make that information real and relevant to provide the motivation to learn. I'm very attentive to affective factors (stress, irrelevance, animosity, etc.) that can impede learning, and I strive to provide a learning environment that will foster a love of learning and scholarship. A Little Bit About Me...

I have one year of experience teaching children. This experience was teaching a nutrition and wellness program designed by Fargo Cass Public Health to elementary age children. I have a BS in Community Health Education, which has given me the skills to design, implement, and deliver many lessons on health-related topics. As an intern at the Alzheimer's Association, I was able to teach professionals and the community about the disease. I also possess excellent grammar and reading skills as the result of writing many research papers. Currently, I help people with disabilities find employment. This allows me to practice my writing skills on a daily basis as I compose notes on the service I provide to my clients.
