A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught either French or English, either in the classroom or as a private tutor, since 1989, when I was recruited as an undergraduate to teach Elementary French. For the next 5 years I taught all levels of French grammar and PhD readings, as well as first and second semester English Grammar and Composition courses while pursuing my MFA in Literary Translation (French and Spanish). I’m passionate about both French and English and have a strong desire to bring a love of and competence in both subjects to my students. My teaching, even in the classroom, is focused as much as possible on the individual student. My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught.
